Science has been my passion since I was a child. Throughout my 13 years in public education, my goals have been to ensure that all students see themselves as scientists, and that it feels understandable and accessible, especially for underrepresented students. In my various classroom and leadership roles, I have worked to do this by delivering engaging lessons, writing accessible and relatable curriculum, and building the capacity of the teachers I work with to do the same.

Working with Underrepresented Learners
My goal is to increase underrepresented students' sense of belonging and efficacy in the science classroom. I've worked to achieve this by elevating diverse narratives in science, and learning about best practices for instruction for culturally and linguistically diverse learners and neurodiverse learners. I intentionally incorporate these practices into every lesson I develop and build teachers' capacity to do the same. Below are several artifacts demonstrating my commitment to quality, affirming instruction for underrepresented students.
